Because this is an intermediate craft, it involves a few more details than some of our beginner projects. However, the extra effort is worth it once it’s all together. Carefully layered leaves, embroidered strawberry seeds, and gently curved stems help give your felt strawberry plant its realistic appearance while maintaining that signature handmade charm we love so much in felt making.

Another thing we love about this project is how interactive it is. Strawberries can be removed from their stems, making this project especially fantasy fun. Little gardeners can “harvest” their berries, care for their plant, and incorporate it into a larger felt garden or play kitchen. It is the type of toy that invites storytelling along with creativity. Oh, and if you put some catnip on the berries, this can become your fur baby’s favorite toy.

And while this felt strawberry plant is perfect for playing with, it also works wonderfully as cheerful summer decor. Deep red combined with organic green and white create a unique touch to fun seasonal decor. Place your small pot on a kitchen shelf, brighten a craft room, or display it alongside other fruits and vegetables from our growing garden felt collection. No matter how you choose to style it, the soft textures and vibrant colors bring a little extra warmth wherever it lands.

When your felt strawberry plant is ready to bloom, share it with us in the crafting community and on social media using #MadeWithLia. We would love to see your little felt crops come to life.

How to make a felt strawberry plant

  1. Gather your tools and craft materials. Then download the pattern below.
  2. Cut out the felt according to the pattern using a Cricut Maker or scissors.
  3. Apply a thin line of glue to the center of a large sheet. Fold the sheet in half, pinching along the fold. Leave the stem part of the leaf unglued for now.
  4. Open the sheet and flatten the top. Repeat with the other leaves, large and small.
