Easter is coming and I’m here to share all the Easter basket ideas you need for kids of all ages, and even teens and adults too! I’ve developed a foolproof formula for filling Easter baskets with items they’ll love long after the Easter Bunny is gone!
I gathered over thirty items, plus Easter baskets to put in them, and divided the ideas into different categories to make it even easier!
The best Easter baskets

The Easter Bunny always filled the same basket, year after year, for me as I grew up. I wanted to do the same with my son, so I chose a well-made basket that would last a while. It is also a basket that we can use for other needs throughout the year, if we want. Some favorite basket ideas:

- Felt Bunny Basket
- shopping basket
- cargo basket
- House basket
- White wire basket
- Wicker Bunny Baskets: Large Bunny Basket, Small Bunny Basket, Checkered Bunny Basket

Fill my basket formula for children
Having a formula for anything helps everything go better, especially something you have to do annually, like filling Easter baskets. I have divided my formula into five categories:
- something creative
- Something for a collection
- something practical
- something edible
- something seasonal
That way you can scale any of these depending on your budget. Pick one big item and get the rest at the dollar store, eliminate all five categories at the Target Dollar Spot, and adjust each year accordingly without too much guesswork. Here are some Easter basket ideas for each category for kids.

something creative
I always include something to encourage creativity. Art, craft, or imaginary play supplies are great options for any child, from toddlers to tweens. Consider items like:

Something to “add” to a collection
Since Easter baskets are usually filled with small items, this is a great time to add something to a collection or toy your child already has. Here are some ideas:
That way, you won’t get those little plastic toys and things that don’t serve much purpose beyond Easter. Instead, you’ll get something they can play with or use for much longer!

something practical
Kill two birds with one stone and add something “practical” to the mix since it’s something you know you’ll have to buy anyway. For me “practical” means:

something to eat
Edible items or Easter treats are always a great addition because they are inexpensive and consumable, so they won’t need to find storage in your house (or end up in the trash). Candy is always an Easter staple, but the edible Easter basket ideas are endless! After you dig into your Easter baskets, don’t forget to serve up a delicious Easter brunch too!

something seasonal
And of course, it’s always fun to add something Easter-themed too. If none of the above are already themed for the season, here are some spring and Easter-focused additions:

My Easter Basket Filler Formula for Teens and Adults

something creative
Include something that sparks creativity, whether through games, art supplies, or something that fits into one of your hobbies. Here are some ideas:

Something to add to a collection
Everyone collects something. Whether it’s a collection of baseball cards or Disney figures, or just a candle connoisseur who can’t get enough of new scents or a music fan who’s always building his band t-shirt collection. Here are some ideas to add to your beloved collection this Easter:

something practical
Easter baskets are a great time to incorporate something the recipient needs, recently ran out of, or could use an upgrade. These practical objects kill two birds with stones by filling a need and a basket. Here are some ideas:

something edible
A treat or candy is a staple of an Easter basket. They are consumables, always appreciated and available for any budget. Here are some creative ideas for edible Easter basket fillers:

something seasonal
It’s always fun to follow the theme of Easter basket fillers, but sometimes those little plastic Easter items just end up in the trash. Here are some ideas for seasonal items that will last or wear out!

My Easter Basket Picks for Teens and Adults
Below you will find some selections of Easter baskets for teens and adults. I mainly focused on self-care and craft items to help keep me busy and calm during these crazy times. Some of these are “more expensive” items, but they would be super cute as the main or sole feature of a teen or adult Easter basket, along with some candy!
