A green garden renovated with Durapost Vento fences

After five years of living in this home, we recently replaced our 4-foot-tall fences with these stunning Durapost Vento Composite Fence Panels. Not only are they a stunning choice for any yard (with several different color combinations available), but they’re also made to last. These fences won’t be going anywhere anytime soon!

Yes, the specs on these fences are seriously impressive, but they have so much more to offer. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is the one change we’ve made to our home that 1) has brought me the most joy and 2) has had the biggest impact on how we use our home. When you move into a townhouse you know you’re going to be very close to your neighbors, and luckily we get along incredibly well with our neighbors on both sides. So while having low fences didn’t stop us from using our yard, it did change how often and when we (on both sides of the fence) spent time outdoors.

We don’t have much outdoor space, so when both families use it there is no privacy at all. It feels like a shared space rather than our own garden and you can imagine the amount of items that have to be constantly retrieved from both sides every day. And to top it off, the fences were old, worn and practically falling apart. I honestly don’t know why we waited so long to replace them.

Of course, our Durapost fences were a massive improvement straight away. We chose the olive-grey posts with the natural board combination and the colours are just perfect. The view from our house into the garden makes me smile every time I look towards the back of the house and I didn’t expect that raising the fence would make the garden look bigger. Before, we rarely used or played in the space right next to the fence because we felt like we were almost in our neighbours’ garden. It felt like we were invading their personal space and so we moved into the other half of the garden. Now we have all this extra space and the garden looks almost brand new to us!

Vento blinds are designed to let air and light through, making them more wind resistant and also creating an open and airy feeling, whilst providing that all-important privacy.

J Hubbard and Son provided us with everything we needed and the installation was very quick. It took our installers just over a day to put up the posts (link to timelapse) and then the sheets took just a few minutes to put up. You can see that in this video (link to sheet installation). They told me over and over that they love putting up these fences, so I believe them when they say it’s an easy option.

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m thrilled with these fences. We’ve been spending a lot more time in our garden since we installed them. It feels like our house has expanded!
