Hello and welcome to an August post. We start today with a new video posted by the Prince and Princess of Wales yesterday afternoon. In the video, the royal family congratulates Team Great Britain on their performance at the Paris Olympics. 
Great Britain’s Olympic athletes won 65 medals, including 14 gold, 22 silver and 29 bronze. This is the message accompanying the video posted on social media.

Snoop Dogg, 52, who has become something of a star at the Paris Olympics for his unexpected and enthusiastic appearances, opens and closes the video.
“Thank you Great Britain from the great Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife,” he says in the short film posted on social media.
The video features many famous names: David Beckham, athletics gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes, cyclist and gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy, swimming gold medallist Rebecca Adlington, Scottish sports presenter Andrew Cotter and more. Here is the full video.

As you can see, Prince William is wearing a Team GB polo in the video. The Princess of Wales was wearing a familiar T-shirt, her Ralph Lauren Tori striped T-shirt. The all-over navy horizontal stripes sit on a cream cotton base; the garment also has long sleeves and a boat neckline. 
The Duchess wore it when she was spotted shopping in Anglesey, at a SportsAid workshop in 2013 where she played volleyball (bottom left) and when she watched the Houghton Hall horse trials in 2016 (bottom right).

In the video, the Princess appeared to be wearing a thin gold or silver necklace. She also had a different ring on, which was not her usual eternity ring. In these images, you see a blurry close-up from the video, the Princess’ Eclipse eternity ring ($1900) from royal favourite Annoushka, and on the right, two previous engagement photos showing the Eclipse ring. 
One suggestion is that it is a new eternity band. Another is that it is the Victorian-style gold ring that the Princess first wore in 2005 at her university graduation ceremonies. That ring features small pearls (presumably for William’s birth month) and garnets (presumably for the Princess’s birth month). Without better photographs, we may never know which ring the Princess was wearing. 
It was a pleasure to see a new video with the Princess! A note on comments: I had to delete some comments about William’s beard on the Facebook post and I would like to avoid that topic in the comments on this post.

Here we move on to the results of the poll, starting with your favourite looks from the Chelsea Flower Show. 
No surprise there: the dress worn at the 2017 show, the deep green silk number by French fashion house Rochas, was the big favourite. Second place went to the pink colour-block silk shirt dress by ME + EM. Here are the numerical results. 
Now we move on to your favorite garden party look. 
Your favourite was the Elie Saab ensemble and Philip Treacy hat you wore to a Buckingham Palace party last May. Second were Emilia Wickstead’s vibrant coral design and Jane Taylor’s ‘Lyssa’ hat seen at a party in May 2022. Your third choice was the one you wore to a party in April 2022 – the pale aquamarine dress by an unknown couturier and another Philip Treacy hat.
With almost 2,300 votes, here are the numbers for the three candidates with the most votes. 
Next up on the hit list, Trooping the Colour’s favourite styles. 
The clear winner was Jenny Packham’s updated dress and Philip Treacy hat from this year’s event. In second place was Andrew Gn’s green dress and Philip Treacy hat worn at last year’s event. Third choice was the bright pink Alexander McQueen dress and Jane Taylor’s Lyssa hat worn at Trooping the Colour in 2017.
Now we move on to the results of your favorite Garter Day outfits. 
The Alessandra Rich dress and Philip Treacy hat worn to last year’s Garter Day events were her favourite look. Her second choice was the cornflower blue Alexander McQueen coat-dress at the 2022 Garter Day ceremonies with a Juliet Botterill hat. A close third was the 2016 ensemble with a red Catherine Walker coat first worn in Canada in July 2011, topped off with a Lock and Company hat first worn at the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant in 2012.
With nearly 2,200 votes cast, the numbers show how close the voting was for second and third place. 
Now we look at the Royal Ascot outfits. 
Another Alessandra Rich look takes the top spot – the polka dot dress paired with a Sally-Ann Provan hat she wore to Royal Ascot in 2022. The next favourite look was the red Alexander McQueen dress at Royal Ascot 2023, finished off with a Philip Treacy hat. The Elie Saab ensemble and Philip Treacy hat she wore to Royal Ascot 2019 came in third. Here’s how the voting broke down. 
And now for our final annual poll on the summer events, this time to choose your favourite Wimbledon outfit. You may remember that the number of outfits (25) prompted me to split the vote into three groups: one to vote for your favourite repeat style and the other two to select the new styles. This poll covers the two outfits that got the most votes in those three polls.
Your favourites include the Zimmermann Roamer Day dress seen at Wimbledon in 2014, Catherine Walker’s wildflower-print dress worn at the 2017 Championships, Suzannah London’s Flippy Wiggle dress worn in July 2019, Emilia Wickstead Jordin’s icy blue one seen a few days later in 2019, Roksanda Ilincic’s bright yellow dress worn in July 2022, and the Safiyaa Cecelia dress worn at this year’s Championships.
