It’s so easy to make these homemade bath salts that you might end up making an extra batch or two to have on hand all year long. It would be nice to have a small jar ready for when you have guests over. Like a thoughtful welcome after a long day of travel.

Bath Salts Recipe (Ingredients)

  • 1 cup Epsom salt salt
  • 1 cup Himalayan coarse sea oil salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • essential oils (any scent you like)
  • Glass jars (I linked the ones I used)
  • mixing bowl
  • spoon

How many containers will this recipe fill?

This recipe (which has 2 cups of salt total) will fill 12 glass jars, like mine. If you select a different size jar or container (you can find many options here), the number of containers this recipe fills will change.

Vials usually list volume capacity in ml. And each cup of bath salts is approximately 236 ml. So you can calculate how many containers or vials you will need from there.

How to Make Party Favors with Bath Salts

1. Mix everything.

Start by mixing the Himalayan Sea. saltEpsom saltand baking soda in a container. I like to use a much larger container than necessary to avoid spills.

2. Add essential oils.

Next, add a few drops of your favorite essential oils until you achieve the desired aroma. Stir with a spoon.

3. Add to containers.

Pour the mixture into glass jars until they are full. You may need to use a funnel for this, which can be as simple as one you can make out of paper.

4. Cover with cork.

Add corks to each jar to seal them. Mine came with cork stoppers.

5. Add a gift tag.

Next, tie a small gift tag to each jar using a string. I made these gift tags out of scrap paper, using the same technique as my handmade watercolor gift tags.

For weddings

Add guest names and table numbers to the gift tag for a fragrant gift that also does double duty as an escort card. Or make a smaller batch of jars and give them as gifts to your guests. wedding party instead.

And if you want to skip the bath salts ideas altogether, it would be great to use these glass jars as containers for biodegradable confetti, which guests can toss as you walk down the aisle.

As a party favor for a ‘Spa Day’
