Well, all of you. This is round three of my search for a rug for our bedroom. I know some of you said I should wait, but now I’m like a dog with a bone. If I have a few minutes of extra time and sit down at my computer, I immediately start looking for rugs. Also, yesterday I spent a ridiculous amount of time and effort wrestling with the four previous 9 x 12 rugs to get them packed and ready to return. They are all going to return. I am not going to try to make myself like a rug, nor am I going to live with a rug just because it is more convenient to keep it than to return it and continue searching.
Anyway, I read your comments. I looked at all your links. I considered your suggestions. And the suggestions that caught my attention the most were leaning more towards the orange/coral color in the headboard fabric. However, I considered other suggestions, such as perhaps opting for a sisal rug or a sisal-look rug. I considered that option very seriously, but since I’m a color lover, the idea of leaning more towards orange/coral seemed more appealing to me.
The main thing I noticed in my previous attempt was that the background color of the headboard fabric will be an issue if I keep trying to pair it with a rug that has a predominantly cream, beige, or off-white background. The background of the fabric has a yellow tint. It is not a standard off-white or cream color. So if I try to pair it with a rug with a cream background, it’s always going to clash, which was my main problem with the last rug.
The rug seems too light and bright compared to the beige-yellow background of the fabric. So I decided to lean towards the orange/coral color and see what I could find. I think I found a few viable options, all of which would give me the color I so desperately want, while none lean too far toward off-white, beige, or cream that would clash with the fabric. Interestingly, each of them can be found at this link (affiliate link).
This first one leans more towards a reddish coral, but I think it would work.
This one definitely leans more towards the orange side, which I love. It also brings in some of the light teal color of the header.
This one is halfway between the reddish coral of the first and the more orange color of the second. It is as if those two colors had been mixed to give us this color.
This one is more intense towards the light teal color, but also has quite a bit of orange/coral in it.
And this is another one that has a lot of blue-green, but also a lot of coral/orange.
And finally, there was this one. I wanted to try it, but I think the blue in this one is too true blue instead of blue-green. So it probably won’t work in our room with all the teal.
I really think one of these could work. Of course, the headboard fabric will not be stuck to the rug like in these pictures.
